Hello all again,
Curious if anyone can tell me what I did exactly and how to potentially reverse it.

After having to reprogram the entire MICS 7.0, I found out that, after you enter the starting Ext number, in our case 100, it auto fills in the remaining. All our sets occupied Ext 100-131, with 132 being the Gen Delivery MB. So that meant that anything that was originally Ext 131 and above got squished into the open ports below 131 and any that had an Ext number under 131 stayed the same. After moving DNs back to where they belong, I made a bit of a mistake. We had a person with Ext 132, so I went and did a change DN from 121 to 132 before moving the GD MB off that spot. Now when anyone leaves a message on our Ext 132, it goes to the correct mailbox but it doesnt turn on the indicator light showing htere is a message. Now before you say, "turn it back on", when I hit the programmed VM button, or F981, it brings up on the flip LCD "LOG:" like you are attempting to access the MB from a different handset instead of the "PW:" it usually does, then you could hit "*" and go to the "LOG:" screen.

Any idea what I did or how to fix it? I think I had this issue with Ext 131 as well when I tried to move Ext 117 to 131. I think I just moved 117 back to its original, moved 131 and sent 177 to 131 then it worked. I will be trying that again as I finish this up.

Thanks

When she hit f981, or corresponding programmed key, it comes up with "Log:" first instead of "PW:" still. She can access it through "Log:", I was just hoping to have it work normally.

hey Dr Bob, have you f*0 that set to make sure that she is ext. 132??? i'm just thinking that if she has to log into mb 132 from that set she might not be ext.132....just a thought

You as the user use DN's to program the system, but the integration between the voice mail and the KSU uses ports.

So sometimes Change DN gets confused.

port 101 - DN 221
port 102 - DN 222
etc

Change DN 221-222 should result in

port 101 - DN 222
port 102 - DN 221
Change DN's does not always move everything. As an example 221 (port 101) name = Mary and 222 name = John (port 102). After the change DN, 221 is now John and 222 is now Mary because the name stays with the port not the DN.

I have seen where the voice didn't get the change DN info and still thinks 221 is on port 101.

Reboot the system and the voice mail should clear the problem.

Is there a proper way to power down the VM and phone system other than pulling the power from it?

The reason why she was pressing *132xxxx is because mailbox 132 was not assigned an extension. The * is used for guest mailboxes. Initially when that mailbox was setup the * was entered as extension which is reserved for guest mailboxes.
