Hello,
I have a Windows 2000 Active Dir server managing my whole domain.
I recently bought a new server and installed Windows 2003 Server.
I have made it a DC and promoted it to Global Catalog Server. I have demoted the old 2000 server from being a GC, but it is still a DC.
I now want to switch the old server off completely but I need to get DHCP and DNS working on the new 2003 server.
What is the best method for doing this?
The old server needs to be totally wiped and re-installed as a backup DC elsewhere. So I need the PCs to look only at the new 2003 server for their DHCP and DNS.
Any ideas how this can best be achieved?
Many thanks,
T
