Micros Res 5 to Excel

So I just found out that the version of Sybase running Res5 doesn't have Excel support integrated. You can still do this, it's just tough to figure out how. I just put together an FAQ for it, but here's the general format:

select * from micros.uws_def;
output using 'Driver=Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls);DBQ=d:\\Micros\\Export\\ExcelTest.xls;READONLY=0'
into "workstations

Interesting; thanks for posting. Have you had to do anything where the customer (and I do realize in this case you are the customer) wants a standard report output as Excel? We do it by flip-flopping a DLL; wondering if you do that any other way.
