MICROS 8700 touchscreen

Does anyone know what would cause the touchscreen to display vertical and horizontal lines across the screen? I have a UWS3 workstation that has been displaying like this. The machine is usable but the lines are a distraction. I also can only calibrate from the server.
Any ideas?

This is a known problem and is caused by bad hardware.
