I know that the limit of extensions is 389 (whether IP or Digital or combination thereof) however is there a limit for Users? Assuming I have 250 extensions (base extensions IP/Digital within the system) could I have 400 users? I have a project wherein I would like to roll out 250 IP phones and don't know the locations of each user. If I setup the system so that I register the IP phones as extensions 5100 - 5350 and have them setup as users with names EXT5100 - EXT5350 and then create another 250 users with legitimate names (Such as John Done, Jane Done, etc...)and teach the users how to "login" this would allow us to deploy the phones with base user's without having to know where the phone needs to be installed. This would also allow us to use the phone even though a user is not logged in as each of the phones would still have a default user account of EXT5100-EXT5350. Lastly, this would make administration easier as if users need to move around they would not need to move their phone (they would all Hot Desk). If we make the base extension number be the same as the user ext and a user moves - rebooting the system would default the extension of that user and this would force them to get into the habit of logging into there phone. Just a thought but this would all hinge on the limit of actual users (phantom)
