I have a Sound Blaster CD-ROM (CR-563),& am using Win95. I can't seem to get my Config.sys & Autoexec.bat files setup with either; 1.) the correct drivers or 2.) everything in the proper order or 3.) both 1 & 2. I have a Sound Baster 16 sound card that the CD-ROM attaches to, the sound card is setup and running properly. The system detects the CD-ROM,the light blinks when it should and it's even been assigned a drive letter. In Device Mngr. there's the yellow exclamation warning next to the CD-ROM Controler driver and under properties for it it says,"all of the drivers are not loaded, or the device is not installed correctly, or it's not even there." There's no conflicts and I am sure it's installed properly . Under the Performance tab it tells me I have a device using a real-mode driver & something about being in MS-DOS Compatibility mode. When I rem out the line with the MSCDEX driver in my Autoexec.bat file the message goes away. Throughout all of this when I try to use the CD-ROM I get," Drive is not ready." The light comes on but that's about it. I think I just need to know exactly which drivers I should be using and the proper way to put them in my Config & Autoexec files. Upgrading is not an option. I would be forever gratefull to anyone who can help me get my CD-ROM up and running again.

tarowcjd
