Hi

(Sorry if posted twice as could not fibd the first one!)

Having "upgraded" to a new Vista PC, I am having trouble with manager.
It will not discover units - in Preferences/Discovery, this bit where my IP Address and mask etc should be is blank.

If I put the address in IP Search Criteria it finds it, BUT ..

I also use ISDN Dial Ups a lot to access customers systems and this doesnt work either - even if I put in the exact address.

Causing me major grief so ANY help appreciated!

That does not work either
Nor putting it in TCP discovery.
Nothing.
I am wondering whether to flatten my PC and start again..?

UAC (user account control) is that dumb ass thing that ask you to cancel or allow every thing you do in vista. This can be disabled by going to users in CP and disabling it for the user you are logging in with.

However if you are logging in as a domain admin you need to go to the management utility/snap-in and make yourself a local admin on that box. This may help.

I had the same on my Vista Business PC, something i could not resolve and no info on the inet.

Then, after yet another M$ update my FTP downloads were extremely slow while HTTP downloads used full bandwith.
Another google on inet brought me to a solution with "netsh" and disable a certain setting.

Since then FTP downloads run full speed AND the Manager can discover IP Offices on different networks, including the dial-up networks.

Here you can find info regarding netsh:

Are you assigning a 192.168.99.X address when you use ISDN to dial up?

ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
CCENT - Cisco ICND1
CCNA - Working towards.

Thanks for these suggestions, however it has not worked.
This is the problem:

Must be a vista security thing?

First things first - can you ping the IP Officr when you dial into it???

yes, no problems at all.
This is also imnteresting when dialled in..

The ip office on this particular network is on 192.168.6.3 so its never going to find it with that range...
