Hi

(Sorry if posted twice as could not fibd the first one!)

Having "upgraded" to a new Vista PC, I am having trouble with manager.
It will not discover units - in Preferences/Discovery, this bit where my IP Address and mask etc should be is blank.

If I put the address in IP Search Criteria it finds it, BUT ..

I also use ISDN Dial Ups a lot to access customers systems and this doesnt work either - even if I put in the exact address.

Causing me major grief so ANY help appreciated!

Dave

This must be a security issue in vista
Vista is full of security :)

Vista is certainly full of something :)
Not a Vista expert, so I am hoping for some guidance,
I am sure someone else must have come across this!

Have you tried to run Manager in XP compatability mode? go to program files/avaya/ipoffice manager/manager.exe/right mouse click/properties/compatability/change compatability. I'm doing that from memory, but I think I'm close. Try it.

You need to go into the discovery preferences,
File/Preferences/Discovery Tab
Edit the IP search criteria to match that of the LAN your on.

Yes that works fine, however when I use an ISDN dial up to a customer site, nothing seems to work.
In your screen shot above where the NIC IP abd NIC Subnet are, it is blank!
perhaps my PC is screwed?

did you upgrade from a previous version of manger on vista or did you install 4.1 fresh?

Uninstall it and install 4.0.5 or an earlier version first and then upgrade it to 4.1.

In the process o doing that now, I will let you know how it goes!
Thanks for you help.
Bit new to Vista, having resisted so far....LOL

just continue with the upgrade and see what you get then.

go to file/preferences/discovery tab and enter in your IP search criteria manually

just like it is shown in my pic, (using your lan info ofcourse)

IF you need help what is your IP scheme.

Also are you using a PC or laptop wired or wireless?
Is User account control on?

Ok when your dialing up, do you know the ip of the IPO your trying to connect to? I have to enter that IPO manually when i VPN or dial up to any ipo.
