I'm completely lost on this one.

When callers hit the automated attendant and don't have a choice to select, they automatically get routed to the main distribution mailbox. However, they get a prompt, "mailbox full, goodbye". It hangs up. The admin at the office logs in to check the mailbox and it says, "no messages"?

If I connect remotely and check through Norstar ICS Programming Tools, I'm not even seeing a mailbox configured on the main line?

Anybody have any ideas?

your talking about the GD mbox right...have them check msgs in that mbox 10,100,1000 etc whatever your dn lenth is. Also make sure you have the att turned on under f982.

Agree with norstar, but double check under Ftr982, what DN is the attendant?

Yes the general distribution mb. I don't set these up, they are setup by our vendors at equipment installation when we occupy new space. We took over this space 2 months ago. we login to aa @ f983 then put in the 7 digit pw. Our extensions are 3 digit. In this case the main line is 265 but there is no mailbox @ 265

To check GD, press Ftr981, press Other in display, press 100 plus password. Password might still be default, (0000). It could be (1111), (1234). If you don't know it answer back and will tell you how to reset.

Ok, The attendant avail was set to "N". I changed it to "Y

it sounds like two things. first that the General delevery mailbox is turned off and second the mailbox associated with the attendent in the AA table is full.

do a feature 983 then option 6 and see if gen delivery is Y or N
do a feature 983 >> AA >> Table >> 1 >> OK >> OK >> NEXT(next is about 5 times until you see atdt:) note what ext the attendent is and then check that mailbox.

Ok, looks like that mailbox is what we thought. None. How do I go about setting up a GD mailbox?

do the callers get answered by the AA or is it possibly just a mailbox?

Each attendant has his/her own DID associated with an extension. The mainline is AA for any callers hitting the AA they get distributed according to the directory. If none, they are directed into the GD.

If a caller hits the AA and does nothing then they will by default be transfered to the attendent.

look at the mailboxx for the attendent under feature 983 and ensure that the extension matches the mailbox.

The attndt. was set to None so all calls with no choice or zero defaulted to GD. Just check GD and delete all messages.

OK a step to be done later is to change that password on the sysadmin mailbox. bad place to have a simple password.

what happens if you:
a.) dial feature 980 then put in 100
b.)get intercom dial tone and dial ext 100

How do you delete messages remotely out of GD? The person on site says they access the box and get prompted the mailbox is empty. But callers get prompted mailbox is full.
