Magix Numbering - Trying to use 400 range for Extensions

I need some help. We are trying to Renumber a Magix to use the 400 range for extensions but the system won't accept anything that starts with a 4. Is there any way around this?

What are renumbering from?

You may need to first renumber all extentions to setup space - which starts extention numbering at 7100, and adjuncts at 7300. Then use block renumber to change the extentions to what you need them to be.

Thanks for the response. We are able to renumber individual extensions by parking them in the 7100 range. However, we are not able to renumber them back to the 400 range (i.e. 401, 402, etc.). we can renumber them to other ranges but I think the 400's are pre-assigned for adjuncts or something. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to work around this and use the 400 range as our customer is adamant that they want to use the 400's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The range we are starting with for extensions is 200.

just renumber your adjuncts that begin with the 400 that will then allow to use for your stations

Like I said earlier - I would renumber everything to "setup space" as a default option and then renumber your extentions to what you want them to be - from there. By using setup space - you will ger rid of whatever was numbered in the 400 range. The extentions will start at 7100 and the adjuncts will start at 7300. Now - if adjuncts are programmed to do specific "tricks" - you need to be careful. So - before renumbering it may be wise to do a "print all" from the system to see what the existing extentions, adjuncts, etc. are numbered at currently. Also, if a voicemail unit is involved - some of the selector codes may be transfering calls to adjuncts and/or extentions. If you do renumbering as suggested - some changes may be required in voicemail programming - since any renumbering in the system will not automatically renumber in the voicemail module.

Set up space is the only way to go, UNLESS you have things already programmed. (Such as Voice Mail)

If you are just wanting to default the number plan, go ahead and use SET UP SPACE.

Assuming this is an existing system,before you change anything I would print out some information like extension directory, lines, groups, and makesure you have a backup of the current setup incase the system. I would find out what is numbered in the 4 range first.

This is an area that can really drive you bonkers, as it appears there is no logical reason for the system not to accept your renumber command to some digit range. But I'd wager that a printout of DIAL PLAN will show one or more Lines, Extensions, or Adjuncts has a 4, 4x, 4xx, or 4xxx number, effectively blocking renumber of anything to the 4xx range.
