Looking for someone who can help me get into my router.

I'm configured at 9600bps, 8, none, and hardware sometimes none is set, however, I receive garbage at the hyperterminal prompt.
 
Have you verified the cable is good?&nbsp;&nbsp;You could have a loose pin or broken wire inside of it.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you try it on another router does it work?&nbsp;&nbsp;If it does I am not sure.&nbsp;&nbsp;Can you telnet to it?&nbsp;&nbsp;If you can you could connect into an ethernet port and get in that way.&nbsp;&nbsp;I hope this works but if it doesn't you might have to get with the vendor.&nbsp;&nbsp;You might try creating a new connection through the wizard.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sometimes hyperterminal can be flaky.&nbsp;&nbsp;I hope this helps.<br><br>Rob Brown
 
Make sure you click at default settings at hyperterminal, and make sure it is a console cable not an ethernet cable you use. They have different cable configurations. [sig][/sig]
 
Garbage can be caused by several issues . Is the baud rate correct , is the emulation correct ie VT100 , the cable could be bad , and or your stop bit could be changed . many troubles and a MAJOR headach to some , hahah Good Luck !!!! [sig][/sig]
