Have you verified the cable is good? You could have a loose pin or broken wire inside of it. If you try it on another router does it work? If it does I am not sure. Can you telnet to it? If you can you could connect into an ethernet port and get in that way. I hope this works but if it doesn't you might have to get with the vendor. You might try creating a new connection through the wizard. Sometimes hyperterminal can be flaky. I hope this helps.<br><br>Rob Brown
Make sure you click at default settings at hyperterminal, and make sure it is a console cable not an ethernet cable you use. They have different cable configurations. [sig][/sig]
Garbage can be caused by several issues . Is the baud rate correct , is the emulation correct ie VT100 , the cable could be bad , and or your stop bit could be changed . many troubles and a MAJOR headach to some , hahah Good Luck !!!! [sig][/sig]
