I built location codes for our Boston, Florida and California offices. We all have ISDN so I'm able to see the CLID. I'm told there's a way to send the actual name from the calling site to the recieving site. Does anyone out there know how to get this to work. Any insite would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Fred

If your sides are connected via MCDN ISDN links it quiet easy, all you have to do is allow NCNA=YES in the RDB. With NCRD=YES you can even see the redirection reasons.

If there are connected via isdn links to the public network, I don't know what it is like in the US, in europe you could use a feature thats called UUS1 (user to user signaling). So the cpnd info is transmitted in this info element.

in the usa, only on tie routes (point to point) then nd3 on rcap (dch) shows names.. if your using pstn, the name look up is the ss7 data base.. if i send my home number from my out of area code 81, the ss7 data base will do a lookup and tag it with my name... but nothing ties my ld 95 to that data.. fed reg, ie, i could name my station with the cop shop and get into major problems.. name display data base has to be in the regulated data base, not the coe database

Another idea:

In Europe we are able to send the caller name (CPND) in the public PSTN with the BNE feature.(Business Network Enhancement)
BNE have to be enable in the RLI you use to access your remote site : BNE YES

When a call is placed through ISDN PSTN, an additional field is then used in the D channel protocol to insert CPND.

Yes but you still need UUS1 enabled from your provider!

right, you have a secondary ee5 type database.. we don't have that option yet.. it would be nice when the same customer owned the calling and called switch..

I don't see BNE as an option on the RLI. Is there somewhere else it needs to be turned on first? I'm at rls 3.0. I'll have to check with telco on UUS1.

Really appreciate the help, Fred

In NTPs :

BNE is output only if the route of the RLI entry is
EuroISDN.
