I have a customer that we just converted from a Nortel CICS to an IPO with 1416 sets. The higher ups do not welcome change well which is why we went with 1416s to replace the 7316s. FYI Line appearances are also turned on for each set

The customer has asked if we can turn on "Line in Use notifications" where they can can see line 1 is in use, press that button, and the display will show what extension number is using the line. Apparently they used this "feature" quite a bit on the CICS.

As I said, the bosses are not the most adaptable people.

Is this possible ? And if so, what is the Avaya term for this feature ?

Start trying to find subtle ways to keep mentioning that Nortel went bankrupt from having a management too attached to ancient ways of working... Until then, no, currently a Line Appearance will show the line in use but not who is using it.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

give the boss system status if he is really that nosey, then he will see who is using the line
