A Lexar JumpDrive (256MB) is automatically and correctly recognized by Windows XP Pro SP2 when connected to a rear USB port on my PC, but fails to be recognized when connected to a front USB port. A SanDisk Cruzer Mini (1GB) flash drive is correctly recognized, however, on both the front and rear USB ports.
All USB ports have passed hardware tests performed by two diagnostic utilities (PC-Doctor and Fix-It Utilities).
As a consequence, I infer that:
* The Lexar JumpDrive is not defective, since it does work when connected to the rear USB port (and with other PCs).
* The USB front port is not defective, since it passes the hardware diagnostic tests and the SanDisk Cruzer Mini flash drive works in it.
* Therefore, if the problem is not the JumpDrive device and is not the USB port, then it would suggest that the issue is a configuration/driver problem of some kind.
All suggestions and troubleshooting recommendations are appreciated!
