What is the KRS process in this circumstance:
Software corrupt so need to do a system startup as well move to 7.1 and re-program from scratch.

Do you need to put in a ticket with ITAS before a new key can be generated or can the authorized dealer just dial in and do it?.

Oblivious we will not be sending KSU back:

Regenerate Keycodes

Regenerate Keycode(s) for failed systems
This section allows a customer to regenerate keycodes for systems that have failed. All keycodes associated to the failed system will be regenerated for the new system.

Step 1:To regenerate keycodes will require:
1) or System ID of failed system.
2) of new system.

Note:
1) All keycodes will be associated to the new system and the old system data will be moved to a repair database.
2) If you received a replacement unit from Avaya and the failed system is not received by Avaya within 30 days you will be billed for the hardware and the keycodes you have regenerated.

I need to snyc a tech onsite after 5pm and support for re-generation minutes after we acquire the new sys id.

I gather nobody here has generated a PRI key code lately on a KSU that changed system ID.

KRS is only giving the option assuming the KSU needs replacement.

I am wondering if we just put in the Old system Id and the New system ID can or should we just ignore the threat of being charged for not returning the old system ID.
In other words is the KRS smart enough to assume it is the same hardware therefore no bill sent?.

Or to we need to call ITAS to have this done over the phone.

I have not done it in about 2 years but I did have to call in and open a ticket. As far as the 30 day deal goes if it's like the BCM then once the code generates the clock starts ticking and if it's not back to avaya within the 30 days they send an invoice.

I guess my company have been lucky and we have not sent back systems that the keys have been moved and nothing from Avaya. You can't add keys to the bd system but they will still work if just moving keys for n up grade.

Good for you cook, I did not get that lucky they made me send in the MSC card and they sent me a new one back that had no codes and it had a new System ID. We went from a 400 to a 450.
