is it possible for me to point a DID to a target line directly to a mailbox? i would like to create a job hotline, but not have the phone ring on a set?

possible? if so, could someone point me in the right direction?

Creat a Vmail info only, point a target line to the Vmail number.

is the Vmail set to a DID number?
Did you set the prime to that DID number?

If your numbering will permit make and initalize a mailbox with the same number as your recieved digits and prime the target line to the v mail local.

mailbox CANT be a valid ext on ksu..if u can find it thru maint then it is a valid ext

You will need to have a phone plugged in and set forward all call to Vmail

What bob said should work if the mailbox is the same as the rec digits then it will go to that box.

Are you using a CallPilot, Flash, or NAM ?

If a CallPilot, try checking the "Express Message Line" option.

From the CallPilot help:

When you create a Subscriber Mailbox, you can assign an Express Messaging Line to it if the subscriber wants to have fax and voice calls go to their Subscriber Mailbox without ringing at their extension. Callers hears the mailbox greeting and can leave voice and fax messages.

I think this option became avaliable after Norstar 4.0 with NAMS. DO NOT make a target line . Put the VM DN on the Trunks as Prime. Make a mail box that matches the digits you are receiving.When a call comes in it hits the trunks since there is no target line the trunks send it to the VM DN and the nam recives the digits and sends it to the mailbox.Wala.
