Hi All,
Have a guestion for you. Just purchased a Geforce2-mx400 (64 meg). Everything seemed to run fine untill i tried to load up a few games. System either crashes or kicks me back to the desktop when attempting to load anything D3D or OPENGL. Will also crash if i try to re-set the resolution (in game -when it loads) to anything other than my desktop res! Have installed the latest drivers to no avail. The only thing that seems to work (and it's a minimum) is turning the AGP APETURE SIZE to 64meg and AGP FAST WRITE OFF. The card is supposed to work at 4X. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Running DIRECTX8 and previously had a BANSHEE in the machine and all was fine.
Thanks!

i'm on windows 2k pro....nope theres no hardware tab..thats what i was looking for in the first place. and i installed coolbits and everything.

does what o/s you have matter? Would this work on the new windows XP coming out?

Sorry man,
I forgot there was a new driver out for the cards. I just upgraded recently and it doesn't work. I found one called Geforce Tweak Utility. You can do a search for it. -Feryl

Well, I just got a new video card. It is GEFORCE2-MX400, I am having a vary hard time with it. I am running 2000 pro and have a problem with the services.exe. The first problem, when the system goes over its post the screen paints vary slow. I am not sure why that is, the next problem is I load the card and somtimes the computer will load ok and other times right after I boot the services.exe termenates, then the system counts from 1 minute and then shuts itself down. It reboots and then might come back ok or it might have that service error. I thought it might be the computer so I took the card out and put the old one back in and it worked just fine. So I am not sure what is going on but could someone please help :-(

You could have a look in the Bios and see whether there's any settings that need sorting. Eg, if you're last card was PCI then you might need to enable AGP in the BIOS. Things like that, it should say something about it in you MoBo manual or Graphics manual. Sorry I can't be more specific but you don't say what your system is.

The other favorite is just check that your mobo does support AGP 4x, and not just 1x. Again, this depends on the age of your mobo but it should say in the manual.

Just a couple of things there that I would try. Hope it's useful! :)
