Hi new to the forum, but have got many solutions from here in the past.

I am trying to find out of there is a way to upload a pre-recorded message for voicemail mailboxes we have a few departmental OOH messages recorded manually by me when we setup the system. And now marketing would like these inline with our AA and OH voice overs we have had recorded professionally.

I just cant seem to find out how to do it, or that it is not possible.

I'm a Jack of all trades master of none kind of guy. So apologies in advance. Most info I can think if below.

We have Server edition 9.0.4.0 build 965, and IP Office 500v2 as expansion. All phones are on the expansion and it has isdn lines. Server edition is running vmpro 9.0.4.0 build 18. We have incoming lines go to hunt groups and then if its outside working hours they go to voicemail with a "dept now closed message".

If you had embedded the answer would be no for voicemail boxes using custom but since you have voicemail pro the answer is yes. Our voicemail pro server is being used by the other tech so I can't look at it right this second but in the VM folder of the voicemail pro installation is where all the recordings go. If you find the recording that is currently used you can simply rename it to something else and then rename the custom recording to what it use to be named.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

by default greetings are stored in:

c:\program files\avaya\ipoffice\VMpro\vm\Greetings
(Windows)
/opt/vmpro/Greetings
(Linux)

the file name is simply the name of the mailbox (mailbox_ooh.wav for out of service greeting)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Even with embedded this is possible, if the IPO is version 9.x

Excellent, thanks for your help will give this a go on Monday and let you know how I get on.

Many thanks for the swift info.

Wait you can use a pre-recorded message for a voicemail box in embedded? I know you can with an auto attendant greeting but am unaware of how to do so with a extension/group mailbox greeting with embedded... if this is possible I would love to know how to do so.

Same way, with the LVM greeting utlity. You can choose to convert to a 'greeting' file.

Upload it to the embedded card. stop and start the card and voila..

But when you do an auto attendant greeting you put it in the aag folder and then in the auto attendant you use the name of the file. There is no spot in the extension/group voicemail to enter this filename to use... unless I missed it lol

When you select the 'greeting'option, the 'recording name' field changes to 'user extension'

Oh I see what you are saying... I will have to play with this thank you somehow I missed this all this time.

Use LVM greeting utility to convert WAV file to c11 with the following settings:
Input file: the WAV file name
Output file: username.c11 – this is the Avaya username for the extension needing the greeting
Output file type: Greeting
User Extension: The Avaya username for the extension needing the greeting
Format: G711

Upload the file to the SD Card in the “\System SD\SYSTEM\DYNAMIC\LVMAIL\AAG” folder.

When I tested initially it did not work, I got the “greeting not recorded” message. After trying again later it was there so give the system a couple of minutes to update and test.

Got the new recordings copied in to the right place and all tested as working.

Thanks for the super swift and helpful info for me to solve my issue.
