Is it a fault or is it a feature - M2250 3

I have a new site that has 3 x M2250 + SMILE Consoles, now imagine the scenario, an Internal Call Dials the Operator, he/she answer the call and puts that party on hold, during this time the calling party hangs up. They then pick up their hand set to make another call to discover they have no dial tone, the call is still held on the M2250/SMILE Console (both items give same "fault" indication). They do not get dial tone back until the Operator Releases the call. My question is this a fault or a feature as it happens on all three consoles, which are all set up exactly the same?

It is a feature.
The operator controls the call.
The operator must release the call.
If you have a call up with the operator, you cannot hang up, transfer, or conference.
 
Correct once connected to a console that console has control of the disconnect on that call and you will not be able to make another call until the operator releases the call unless you have a second DN on the set.

Things you can not do when connected to a console:

Hang up on them
Transfer them
Conference them.

Thanks guys, the customer of course isn't happy....hhallett a SMILE Console is a PC Based program that interfaces with the M2250 thus giving screen based directory help, email via LDAP integration plus a host of other functions, however often the only time you SMILE is when you are ripping the F£$&ing thing out!

I agree with you there. %-(

But then again I got LOTs of sub contracted wrk installing them, becuase others refused to touch them :)
