I'm currenlty having an issue with my IPSI board interfaces. I have 6 G650 gateways set up in 3 port networks. Over the last two weeks I've started seeing issues with the GWs dropping. They are down for a min or less, and come right back. has anyone seen this issue? Any suggestions?

Here is an alarm report from one of the interfaces.

(P.S. My boss is currently in a maintenace dispute with our AVAYA partner, so I can't just call them)

I've seen these errors when we upgraded from a g3si v9.5 to a cm2.2. there were 3 things that tier 3 suggested. replace the cable (patch chord), replace the IPSI, or replace the cabinet. It was fixed by replacing the IPSI board.

We are experiencing packet interface, clock, and these same link alarms in our switch. We have 6 G650's setup in 2 port networks between two buildings on our campus. We are at CM 2.2 with the latest patch. We also have all the ethernet ports hard-coded at 100/Full as recommended by Avaya.

Avaya Tier 3 told us to install a T-1 at the second building where the 2 G650's are.... the IPSI boards need a clocking source. Our T-1's are at the main building.

The Avaya guy told me that they know of several customers having the same issue with this design, and the issue was resolved once a T-1 was installed.

I'm interested to see who else has this problem and how they resolved it.

In this particular PN I have 8 T-1s, 4 in each carrier. I don't think installing another T-1 is going to solve this probem. I have a minimum of at least 2 T-1s in every carrier I have.

jaymzter - Not sure, I haven't tried that, but the error on the A carrier IPSI has a slightly different alarm report.

What HW and FW versions are your IPSI cards at?

Any idea what the latest versions are? Although I'm not comletely sold on upgrading to the latest versions, sometimes your just the first tester. ;-)

Any and G650 cabinets with DS-1 facilities need their own sync source. Ensure both the server and IPSI are locked down. IPSIs usually don't go bad, I'm sure it's related in some manner to configuration.

We are at HW10 FW12. IPSI HW version should not matter as long as you are at the latest FW version.

Jaymzter, Avaya designed our campus environment without a T-1 at our second building..... go figure.
