We have 2 IPoffice 500 units running in two different locations talking through scn. we have one building using 100 series extension numbers and the other buildings using 200 series extensions.

The problem if a user on one office unit in the 100 range has a button programed to another user in the 200 range. The system does not tell you if that user is on the phone.

Any way to make this work?

how is the SCN created - i.e the link?

when you create the user buttons do you get offered a list of users from the switch(es) or do you manually create them?

Turn off "allow direct media path" on the SCN link on both sites.

Linked between two switches by Fiber converters.

When users buttons are created the other units users are not visible. So we set them up with a dial feature to the extension needed. Now the user is visable nut on phone status does not work.

Don't use the "dial feature" user the "User" on the button programming.

The user feature will not show users on the 200 (second IPoffice) side. So the user feature will not work.

I checked both IPOffice units for "allow direct media path" They were unchecked.

Thanks

this means that your SCN is actually not working, make sure you have all ports unblocked

Can you give me information on the ports to be unblocked?
