Hi all would appreciate some advice on door lock.

I understand the IPO500V2 'relay' is a transistor with limited current capability. Are there any prebuilt external relays with the 3.5mm jack available to buy as an SKU from Avaya (or other supplier)?

Or if i make my own any recommended parts to us (and diagram so i dont blow anything up!)?

The distance between the IP Office and the door is around 15 meters, would that be OK?

Use a soor intercom with a relay in it.
Person presses the button, phone rings and door can be opened with a press of a key.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks @tlpeter, google is not bringing up soor, could you please link me to the recommended model?

Is this analog or SIP? Ideally if it could be powered by PoE that would be great.

Presume that during the call the intercom is listening out for DTMF tones (any) and will unlock on hearing one from the other end (inside the office)?

We use this one very much (Dutch website)

Th is one is based on SIP but there are many brands who can do this based on SIP or analog.

Cool! Certainly seems easier than dealing with relays, SIP phone with power over one cable and boom!

Many thanks

For relays I make my connector from scratch, soldering proper signal wires ~ AWG 24 to a jack like This.
(Don't cannibalize your kids headset, the wires are too thin and the insulation is usually just a thin coat of paint.)

Beware of the amp and voltage limitations of the IPO relays:
- Switching capacity: 0.7A
- Maximum voltage: 55V dc.

Kind regards
