We have an IP Office SE running on VM and every time we plug our IPO into the customer's core switch, we lose internet connectivity. Can not figure out why this is happening. Anyone else come across this issue?
Indeed. By default the IPO will be doing DHCP with itself as the default gateway and all kinds of otherstuff which could be messing up you network if you left them on. Check all the LAN1 and LAN2 settings.
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on my first post. This is actually for remote access into the IPO. It was working, but keeps failing now. We had internet access into the IPO until we plugged into the customer's core switch. Not sure if the problem is on the IPO side or the customer's equipment.
Some other details:
This is a virtual server. NIC1 from the server is our IPO default LAN 1 IP address which plugs into the customer's switch using port 18. The customer's switch has port 27 coming out of the same switch going into our port 1 of the POE. We used to have access with this set up.
If we unplug from port 18 and go directly into port 1 of the POE, we will not be connected to the outside world.
You sound like you do not know the server edition very well.
Also the part internet access sounds odd to me.
Did you have access to the server edition without a VPN? if the answer is yes then don't do this and request a save way of access.
