Im trying to get a new sip trunk to work using 1 SIP uri for incoming and outgoing calls but I've not been able to get the headers right. my provider requires the from header on outgoing calls to be "number" 161xxxx@sip.orbtalk.co.uk. If i use * * * in the sip uri i can use incoming routes for incoming calls ok, but then outgoing doesn't work. How can i get outgoing calls to work using the same sip uri, can i use a short code on a user to over write the details in the from header to meet my providers requirements?

I want to keep the Sip URI with * * * wildcards as it works with incoming routes but then I need a shortcode to set the from header on the call to "Number" 161xxx@sip.orbtalk.co.uk. I think that should do it.

im getting a headache trying to understand how the SIP URI & the from and to headers all relates with the user SIP tab and the line settings? Anyone able to simplify how it works for me?

Thanks

JK

Just add another URI for outgoing like everyone else does.

With as single SIP URI the way i have it set now works outgoing but incoming cant find a matching route. The To header is

"441268xxxxxx" 441268xxxxxx@sip.orbtalk.co.uk

What should i use to route that to a user? I have an incoming route for 441268xxxxxx but its not working.

I have the SIP URI
161xxxx
*
*

any ideas?

Thanks

So ive got my SIP URI as
Use internal data
*
*

Outgoing works fine, but now incoming has stopped working. I have the same To header for incoming calls but for some reason my incoming route has stopped working.

My To Header for incoming calls is
441268******@sip.orbtalk.co.uk

My incoming route is
Tel number 441268******
etc
etc

Why would this stop working? the numbers match? Should i be using incoming sub address or incoming CLI?

Any ideas how i can get this incoming route to work? If i can resolve this then I have one SIP URI working both ways.

Thanks

JK

That SIP URI combination doesnt work for me. Its OK as it is I just need to work out why its now routing incoming?

538160mS Sip: 17.1028.1 -1 SIPTrunk Endpoint(f5269054) Present Call, no match (441268xxxxxx) from URI in To header or (441268xxxxxx) from request URI.

Thats what i get in the log.

This is the To field on the incoming call

To: <sip:441268xxxxxx@sip.orbtalk.co.uk>;tag=438b69f88a2b7636

It looks ok but its not routing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Create a shortcode 44126N/groupnumber/dial extension/0 and see what happens.

Just add the proper URI that uses the number, it'll work straight away :)

Seems like there isnt a way I can use a single URI for both ways. Ill have to create 2 URI's one for each direction.

If anyone knows of a way i can use a single URI pls let me know.

but the requirement of our sip provider is that outgoing calls must have 161xxxx@sip.orbtalk.co.uk in the From Header.

Ive tried all sorts of combinations but i just cant find a solution to get a single URI to work both ways.

Thanks

JK
