Hello, I have been trying to work on this issue i have been having for quite some time now, and not sure how to resolve it... I have 2 IP500's networked together in a SCN. They are connected by a 4 port switch with regular ethernet cables approx 100 ft. apart... The main unit has the incoming PRI T1 (14 voice channels). I have no issues on my main unit, however on the remote unit, every time I go into system status it is showing that several calls keep getting round-trip delay times (anywhere from 4000ms - 18000ms). There is no packet loss, just delay.
The unit is set up with a H.323 IP line to access dialtone from the main unit. These 2 IP500's along with the voicemail server, are the only devices connected to the switch. Any idea's why my remote IP500 keeps having these round-trip delay issues!??
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

4 port switch eh? Whats the brand? Could be shoddy quality.

What types of calls were they? Just between systems or were they access to voicemail or maybe out a trunk via the scn?

I've seen huge RTD times when calls over scn or voip are accessing voicemail before.

Great question, I wish I could answer. I see in the System status the Call ID, but it doesnt tell me whether the calls are voicemail, internal, or external calls... How can I tell now that I have the Call ID #? Do I need to run Monitor and let it run for awhile until I get another error then go back and reference the call id?

Thanks!!

Indeed ,SSA is showing bull sometimes.
I have raised these values in manager to values where you must notice it on a call and still i see those alarms and nobody complains about bad call quality.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Turn the alarms off on LAN 1 and 2 and you will have no more issues, only actual quality issues warrant investigation not SSA's phantom alarms.... Which they haven't fixed since 4.0 :-)

a round trip delay of 18 seconds....

You wouldn't get quality issues! Dropped calls more liek

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
