IP Softphone on older software

Just a quick question here, I can't seem to find an answer on avaya.com.

We have a customer on an early revision of IP Office(1.x or MAYBE 2.0) and we just sold them a IP Softphone license. What's the minimum version of the software that supports the softphone? Thanks

The earliest i remember ip softphone was version 2

To be honest i would upgrade them to the latest version available for their hardware.
