Ip softphone integration with Goldmine

We use softphone over a VPN using AltiClient version 5.0.1.407 and Goldmine as a screen pop interface. Only problem is that occassionally the client refuses to recognize Goldmine as a screen pop client. So far I have been unable to determine why.
