I installed an ip office 2 weeks ago and after a week the 3o port expansion module fried.
I had another overnighted,installed it and after a week it fried.installed the third one
yesterday and all is well at this point...any comments would be greatly appreceated!

I have several Digital 30 modules go dead, or steady Red in the field.
Most of them had some thing in common, 4412/4424 phones!
These are old Merlin Magix phones that are very power hungry, one of the reasons there blocked on internal Digital modules.
On a rare occasion, you will get customers who plug in analog phones, fax, and even Ethernet from a computer they added into the first module they see.

Did you replace the PSU and blue cable as well?
Maybe a port has some kind of shortcut and drawing to much power, that can freeze/destroy a whole unit.
Use a ohm meter to test aall the wires.

I would definitely make sure they don't have a computer/analog device/etc plugged into one of the digital ports by accident. I have had that happen on multiple occasions where a client mistakenly plugged a device other than a digital phone into a jack on the far end. It can be a little time consuming, but I would verify each extension plugged into the dig 30 actually exists.

As an aside, just remember that you cannot put more than 27 (though to be safe I would keep it at 25) 4412/4424 phones on a 30. If you put more they will all come up...but act wonky and cause issues on the module. Our first 4412 install had this issue, 28 phones came up and were working....until we had to do a reboot.

I've been told a maximum of 27 of 4412, and max of 24 of 4424 for the DS30. I try to keep them less than 24 whenever possible. Like I said, most DS30 I've seen go bad had some thing in common, 4412/4424 phones!

@Andre, that is interesting, I am only going by what a tech at Jenne told me, so that is good to know. The only installs we have made with the 4400 series have all been 4412 phones, so it is good to know that the max is different for the different models.
