I'm new to the IP Office. I want to dial out without having to dial 9 on a PRI. I know the short code:
SC: ?
TN: .
FT: Dial
LGID: 1

My question is will my previous calling restrictions still function properly or is there more I need to do?

How is the phone system going to know if you want to dial out or dial an extension when the user picks up the phone. I strongly suggest not to do that....They either have Line Appearance or Dial 9 (8, 7 or whatever) to get out.

I do this all the time by changing the dial short code from 9N to XN. Make sure it's still pointed to the correct ARS. Easy peasy and works great UNLESS you have local area codes that will interfere with an internal extension number. For example 289 is a local area code here so you cannot have x289 on the system. It's easy to change and change back so give it a try.

bbaits25, calm down it's fine. None of my system ever dial 9 or any other prefix, as mentioned unless local/national dialling starts with the same digits as your extns then you're good to go, even then you can impose a delay on dialling to bypass the issue :)

twodawgnight, it depends on how/where you apply your dialling restrictions really, but just make the change and test, it takes less than 2 mins to do the change and test it :)

not recommended to do this... especially not recommended to do this in a multi-site deployment across multiple NPA's. Particularly not recommended to do this in this era of local and provider number portability.

In summary,

not recommended.
