On IP Office 406v2, Software Load 3.2 and VM Pro 3.2, I have a customer that wants to send page tones (for lunch breaks, end of shift, etc.) over their overhead paging system. The overhead paging system has been interfaced to an IP Office Trunk Port using a Paging Access Module. Any ideas on how I would set up the IP Office to send certain tones over the overhead paging and if it would be possible to have this occur at a certain time of day automatically?

Voicemail pro will do this. Do you have it?

Easiest and most reliable method is to use a tone generator (Bogen) and a clock with contact closure (we use Altronix). Will work every time...

You can alsoo use a computer plugged into the page access module and use the PC to play your sounds. i have a customer doing this. THey are plugged into the music on the paging.

mforrence:

can you elaborate on the Bogen/Altronix Solution? Part Numbers, etc.

Bogen TG4C tone generator and Altronix PT724A timer with power supply. Use altronix to close contact for ten seconds (or whatever duration) at appropriate times. Run tone gen thru contact closure to spare input of amp. If no spare input on amp, use little mixer like Radio Design Labs ST-MX3 to mix existing source and tone into one amp input.
Good luck.

I am curious to see what TheProvider's info on this. I have a customer that may be interested in this.

I however, like the PC idea for other systems. Why didn't I think of that?!?!

Use outlook to play a sound. Connect your paging system to the sound card. Works muy bueno.
