Hi There,

We're having a problem with Network Messaging/Voicemail to Email where the emails all go out and are delivered to users without issue except that instead of a .wav file, people get a .dat file.

I've tested our mail client (MS Outlook, not Outlook Express) on both servers. When I compose a test and attach a .wav file, I receive it just fine. When VMPro sends the .wav file, it gets stripped and we get a .dat file instead.

...and no, renaming the .dat file to .wav does not work...tried that already :P

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ngaire

My first guess is that you anti-virus is stripping the wav attachment.

Have you tried opening the dat file with notepad?

Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

VM Pro doesn't contruct the email very well and SPAM filter often do this or don't forward the email at all!!

Check ou SPAM/Virus filers and set them to allow the VM Pro.

if you are receiving an attachment named winmail.dat, this is an issue with the interaction between your email server the the client applications. what email server are you running? what are the clients running?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your posts - unfortunately, this still isn't working

Just curious - will this work if we use a Lotus Notes client instead of Outlook? We use Notes for our email here...

I have had it working on lotus notes without any problems.

Well that's good news...anyone have any technical resources I can use for this?
