I just posted on the Norstar forum that I have a current Nortel user who wants to use an old Norstar system he acquired or get a whole new IP Office, but keep an Aiphone Intercom system for the paging/intercom.
He wants to bring the old Aiphone system over from the old store and install it in the new store. I told him the IP Office can do internal dialing and paging but he says "rubbish", I want the old aiphone system with their Marketcom Handsets at each register and throughout the store. The only places to have a telephone are at the service desk, managers office, deli, bakery, meat department and back room. The terrible thing is that the Aiphone can't be intertwined with the Norstar nor the IP Office. We are going to have to place an Aiphone Marketcom handset next to each 9600 IP sets. He claims it will be much cheaper to install the Marketcom handsets everywhere in the store.
How do I get this guy to see that he is thinking 1970s, 1A2 key system style.
Anyone else ever encounter this?
