I have a unique issue. The customer got a hold of a version of the Manager program and logged in and changed usernames on their own. The problem is that she did that, there were messages in VM for those users.
Now, lights stay on with no way to turn them off. Message light is on, because of a message that was on for a previous username!

Here is what I have tried so far:
Had the customer delete ALL VM's - Checked System Status, and all messages were deleted, then
Accessed Embedded File Management. - Deleted all VM Messages manually. (DYNAMIC > LVMAIL > *.clp Did not delete recorded names or greetings)
Rebooted the System - Power out of the system for 5 minutes.
Message lights still on.

Any advice on how to get this fixed?

Recreate that original user (make sure spelled exactly the same) leave a vmail message, delete message then delete user and then retest

You can try the following:

SC = *90 ( or what ever you use as a shortcode )
TN = U"; Msgs=0"
Function = Display Msg

It turns off the light using VM Pro, never tried it on Embedded VM though.

You can set the old or new username instead of the U like TN = "Peter; Msgs=0" if the user name is Peter.

There is no record of what the old users used to be on, but I could guess with a backup... Great idea.
intrigant... I will give that a try too. I did some try's with short codes:
Code: *71
Feature: Display Message
TN: N"; Msgs=0"
Didn't work... I will try yours. Thanks!

Also check their source number on the user tab as they may have been part of a hunt group responsible for checking the group messages

ADDENDUM

Via the serial port go into the debug mode (command = at-debug)
There you have the following embedded VM commands:
ivm-help - Embedded Voicemail Commands
ivm-mbox-show - Show mailboxes
ivm-mbox-show nnn Show contents of specified mailbox
ivm-mbox-clear nnn Clear specified mailbox
ivm-msg-del nnn dd/dd/dd hh:mm:ss Delete specified message
ivm-msg-del-all - Delete all voicemail messages
ivm-flash-del-all - -
ivm-limits-max-nummsg-show - -
ivm-limits-max-nummsg-set xxx -
ivm-limits-max-mstime-show - -
ivm-limits-max-mstime-set xxx -
ivm-status-show - -
ivm-monitor-toggle - -

To exit debug mode : type the command localta

Checked all source numbers on all users. No hunt groups or other extensions added there.
Haven't done any serial port access, but sounds like this may be the last resort. Thanks!

Switch to VM Pro (runs for 2 hours without license) that should then make sure all the message lights are off
then switch back

Never tried it but sounds logical that the system refreshes when the type of vm changes.

have you tried my suggestion yet, had same issue and it worked for me

Joe2938, They changed several times between backups, and don't know what name was where, over the 4 years that this has been going on.

If all else fails
reformat the SD card (using manager) & then restore cfg & charge for the engineering time

the cust will loose all messages, & greetings but i will teach them to clear mailboxes before changing names

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
