I have an Avaya Office IP 500 which uses a CTI Connect plugin to send incoming call data to our CRM system. When I turn logging on for the CTI, I can see that ANI has all digits but the DNIS field is empty.

However, as far as extensions go, they show the correct DNIS information.

Is there anything I can do to my IP Office system to populate DNIS?

whatthef*ck is DNIS?
Please use descriptive names as a not englisch member I cannot now all abbriverations you use on the other side of the ocean.

Let me Google that for you. ;)

"DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) is a telephone service that identifies for the receiver of a call the number that the caller dialed. It's a common feature of 800 and 900 lines. If you have multiple 800 or 900 numbers to the same destination, DNIS tells which number was called."

Sometimes you see it as "Incoming Number" in the PBX. Avaya actually sends two fields to the destination computer system which are ACTUALLY LABELLED AS "ANI" and "DNIS" in the call data.

DNIS refers to the Direct Inward Dialing or "DID" number received by the PBX.

"Automatic number identification (ANI) is a feature of a telecommunications network for automatically determining the origination telephone number on toll calls for billing purposes." - Wikipedia

...also, I think I am on your side of the ocean: England.

TBH (to be honest :)) I am not sure but could it be that there is an incoming call route without an incoming number field that is being used by these calls?

I have just tested TAPI 2 and I get CLI and target number but no DDI info.

Thanks @intigrant.

Also, the Incoming Number field is populated according to IP Office Manager. Do you have a Command line TAPI client I could try?

No. On devconnect you can dowload the TAPI SDK which has some test tools for IP Office.

Thanks to everyone for the help.
I will do some diagnostics - I have enough background info for now.
