I have an IPO 412 and have am having an issue with the NICs and high ping times. Both ports are utilized on the 412 and are plugged into a managed switch. The switch ports are both set to 100-Half-Duplex. I should also mention that we have an SCN with two 500's. 500's do not suffer from the same issue.

The response times vary between 1-13ms with an occasional spike to 2000ms (this seems to be when a user hotdesks from another site). IMHO the response time should be consistantly 1 or 2ms on the local LAN. I do not see any errors on the switch such as dropped packets or anything.

The SCN bandwith between sites is substantial, 100Mb to one and 10Mb to the other with latency of only 2-3ms so saturation is not an issue.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry to bump this post... just at a loss

Are the ports on the switch the 412 is plugged into set to Half Duplex? Believe it or not they are only half duplex....old switch now!

That could be your problem.

Yep, ports are at 100/Half-Duplex.
