We have a customer with an IP Office 406V2. The system has 2 DS30 and a DS16 expansion mod and an ATM16 Trunk. Module. They are experiencing static of varying levels on 3 or 4 of the analog trunks. They are always the same trunks and the static is pretty constant and pretty bad. We have replaced the ATM16 but that did not change anything.

There are no IP Phones on this system, just Digital Phones and Analog Trunks.

Can anyone help or offer any suggestions with regard to this?

Thanks, in advance, for anyone's help.

Plug an analogue handset directly into the trunks and see if the static is present if it is, it's the trunks.

We have tried to go directly to the trunks and when the trunks are not connected to the IP Office they are clean. When they are connected to the IP Office they are statiky (like humming).

Thanks.

FYI, I once had the same problem and after hours of trouble shooting. I replaced the stranded coper patch cords and made some solid coper cords, which then fixed the problem.
