IP Office 400 IP configuration, 5410 over internet?

Hi I have IP Office 4.1 with IP Office Modules 412 & 400. I am not a telephony person. We had a vendor setup our office phone system. I'd like to be able to take one of our Avaya 5410 phones and use it at home and act as another office extension. How could I configure it to do so, or is there a good document that explains how this could be done?

You can't, a 5410 is a digital phone not an IP Phone, you need a 5610 or 4610 to do that but also VCM etc in your system. Do you have these?

cant be done with a 5410 im afraid.

you need a 5610 then it needs to be setup as a VPN phone, or you could get a softphone license

How do I tell in IP Office Manager or elswhere if it has a VCM? Or would I need one if I use a softphone vs a 5610 or 4610? Also is a VPN capable phone required even if I say configure two firewalls with a VPN?

If you have a VPN with two routers then a ordinary ip set will do.
if you can run monitor and select your system then in the first few lines you can see if you have a VCM installed, it says "VCM = 0 to 128" depending of the number of channels there are installed
