Wow, reading this 8.0 announcement is seems even more like a bunch of crap now looking back.
I am not sure what they could possibly put into R12 that the R11 doesn't already have and is wanted by a majority of customers.
Most customers do not have 500+ endpoints so they may want only the larger customer base but a previous employer of mine took the same route and all their small and medium customers went away. Then they lost a few big ones and down they went. Not sad about it but the arrogance of their business strategy was obvious to normal people, like me

If you give more information you will get better answers. If you only give bits and pieces then you will get the same back and maybe not fitting your problem.

The roadmap for IPO is pretty bleak from what I have seen.
There was some good stuff supposed to happen in a version numbered 11.2 that was due last November (even as late as August I was told this), But I have now been advised that this has all been canned.
They must have only been weeks from Beta so some of the work must have been done.
On board Call Reporting was one that would have been a major plus. It is alreayd in there and has been for a while, just not fully finished. Visual voice in Workplace was another we've all been waiting years for.
Adding IPO to Avaya Experience Portal and the Linux update are about the only real changes on the current roadmap.
There is talk about CRM API integration 'in the future', but nothing concrete about that. There has been talk about that for a while now. Not sure they will every get there.
A Smaller footprint by maybe removing OXP has been on the cards for years.
I would be very suprised if we saw any IPO release ever starting with 12.

But I have now been advised that this has all been canned." - Not 'all'. Service packs are not meant to contain new features, but R11.1.2.4 did contain those parts of the proposed R11.2 that had been finished (its often much work and risk to remove code than adding it).

In fairness, all the good stuff I was given has indeed been canned. Confirmed by Avaya. The whole roadmap has been reshaped and don't expect many more new features.

From all the news reports from new CEO, Experience Platform is the "North Star" for the company and they want to focus on contact center and large enterprise.
If we don't get another major IP Office release, what is the plan moving forward for you all? Stay on old IP Office release, move to Avaya Cloud Office or move to something else like Microsoft Teams?

Moving from CentOS to RHEL... Probably not a bad idea but will it mean to have same crucial upgrade steps to go as with 11.0 to 11.1.

IP Office Far from dead, now back on the roads maps post chapter 11, good to see customers out there finally getting some choice other than aco / ring or 8x8
I have been working with avaya on a wholesale offering in the UK for IP Office subscription and we are seeing a big intrest, and customers now get a a hybrid option and it makes sense when you see all the customers out there that have large handset estates
Avaya has re-written the contract with ring central(used for aco) so now this allows IP Office to come back in from the cold which is great news..

They told us IPO will move from CentOS to RHEL as base OS. Now the tell usthez will use Rocky Linux instead. Additionally RedHat announced that they will not allow access to sources as before so that alternative distributions like Rocky Linux will have a challenge to build their OS.
Let’s see what the next OS will be and how we have to move from one OS to the other then… Maybe another backup and restore like for 11.1.

They were never going to go to RHEL, that would have required passing Red Hat license costs down the line to customers. A read of the tech press and sites like The Register will show how much the changes made by Red Hat are causing big problems for everyone who has products based on RHEL or any of the RHEL clones.
