I have an IP Office running 10.1 software with a total of 3 base stations. Right now I am trying to get the 2nd one up and running. This is for a retirement community and there are 2 buildings with a parking lot between them. If I move the 2nd base station to the 1st building where the Master is located it syncs fine. If I hook it up in building 2 it shows "Not in Sync". I am sure it is a distance problem. Is there anything we can do about that. The 2 buildings are connected with fiber so they are on the same network.

My first question would be where's the 3rd base station going? Potentially its position could create a bridge between 1 and 2 (the base station air-synch doesn't have to be direct to the master). So setup both 2 and 3 and then play with their positions.

The other option is to investigate the different aerial options - for example using a pair of directional aerials on one of the base stations.

An other option is an outdoor base station - good coverage for staff walking and talking between buildings.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Set the slave base station in another sync region and then set it as sync master for that region.

Intrigrant is right.
It cannot connect over the air to a basestation thus it cannot sync.
There are two options:

Set it to it's own sync region with one master in that building.
Or create more coverage by using more basestations or even outdoor basestations.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

you need to set a 2nd snyc region , the building is too far from the main building, you will probably have a dea spot when walking between them, if this is an issue then you need to either add more base stations (an exterior base on an outside wall would probably be best) or relocate one of the existing ones to a more suitable position
This is why DECT surveys are vital

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
