Hello all, It seem like I would know how to do this but I seem to be missing something here. I need to program a IP agent into the system. I have never programmed one before. I have programmed softphones before and I dont know if the process is the same. Do I have to associate a call master into a IP Agent? Can somebody point me to some documentation that would teach me and explain the process to me. thanks.

Hi

For IP agent we have stations set as type 606a1 and the rest of the set up for the station is like softphone.

IP agents and IP softphones are exactly the same on the switch side.

We use 6416D+s for our agents phones and we use the same for our IP agents. The difference in the two (besides the licenses) in the user app. Whatever phone you use for your agents, your ip softphone needs all the standard agent buttons (rel, auto in, aux, etc)

All you need to do for a IP agent is program a regular station the same as if they are in the office, but include a password, and set IP SoftPhone? to Y. (we change the Service Link state to perminate, it helps with the call setup time since the agent can leave thier home phone off hook)

The other thing is if you dont have passwords on your agent IDs you will need to set that up aswell.

Like I said other than those two its the same as a regular IP softphone.

FYI.... I learned this by talking to one of our IP agents. You can use the regular IP softphone and have the agent login on the IP softphone exactly like a hard phone and Agent calls will route to the IP phone. I think your not supposed to be able to do this, but I did actually see an agent using the softphone this way.
