Currently have a number of IP 406 V2 in different sites. We currently use our own network of TDM multiplexers (PROMINA) with TMCP and PVEC 24 cards to route traffic around our network. However one of our sites has grown quite large and we have 4 IP 406 V2 units spread over a 4 mile area. Here is the issue:
At present I use a single PRI30 in slot B of each unit. This does not give enough channels for around 350 users. However a lot of calls are within the same location. Therefore:
I want to install a PRI60 (dual PRI module) into slot A and then connect with the use of E1 FOM's over a dediacted fibre infrastructure to other IP 406 V2 units. Will the IP 406 V2 work in this configuration? i.e. will they route calls directly between themselves without going over the PROMINA multiplexer.
Also if the Dual PRI module is put in place do I need to upgrade the software version running on the unit, if so which version do I need?
Any advice gratefully received.
