Internal Twinning, call transfer between phones.

I have a 3720/3725 dect phone set up with the user internal number, and a 1608 with a "virtual" number (non DDI), and defined the number of the 1608 as the twinned phone on the 3720 users Mobility tab in manager.

This works good, but qouted from the help system in the manager: "The twinning user can transfer calls between the primary and secondary phones."

How do I do this? The call appearance button doesnt hold any calls on the 1608.

Yeah, but the twinned phone is also 102"....wrong, you have not understood how this works.

If the 1608 is 102 (Primary)
And the DECT is 306 (Secondary/twinned)
You can call 102 and both will ring, if you answer with the DECT you can then transfer back to the primary device by transferring to 102, if however you answered on the 1608 you need to transfer to the DECT by tranferring to 306.
Nobody else apart from the Primary user (1608) can call or transfer to 306 directly.

Are you saying the above does not work

Yes.

If I transfer from primary extn to secondary extn, it goes to VM. If I transfer from secondary to primary, it works.

I dont get any VM notice on the secondary extn either. The lamp is lit on the 1608, but no messages on the 3720.

Maybe I should just dump the whole config and start over.


But then at last, you should be able to transfer a call between both twinned phones? It just doesnt work here for some reason?

To which number (102 or 306) are you transferring to ?

Dialing 306 on the primary phone also gives me VM. (When doing a normal call, not trying to transfer).

You should get busy.
disable the twinning and turn off voicemail for that phone.

Deleted the primary user, cold rebooted the IPO, recreated the primary user and the twinning, and now it works as amriddle01 exlplained!
Even the VM messages arrive like they should.

Gotta do some more testing.

(Didnt do any changes to the secondary user).

In the feature be more specific in what you try to explain.

Still have the same error on all the other extensions I have twinned. Will probably be solved by deleting the secondary extn.

Sorry for bad explaining, not native English and limited experience with IPO.

Explaining was a lot easier using the term "primary" and "secondary" extension.

Yeah, its not in use yet. I dont mind wiping the IPO, but I really dont want to do the DECT/AIWS setup again. Ill delete the users and see if everything works then.

But thats for monday, now its weekend
