I have 50 telephones in the office. all were
pre-configured when I arrived here.. we have
50 external DID's that provide direct dial-in
to our sets in the office by extension.. IE :
dialing 555.5926 rings extension 5926 in the office.
well.. I have 1 problem extension.. extension 5926
that will not respond. I can use the extension to call
other extensions.. etc.. but I cannot call it using
the internal 4 digit extension or the 7 digit outside
DID.. when I call it from an internal station it says
"calling test" which is what I named the extension.
then after a few seconds gives me fast busy and displays
"Not In Service" on the LCD.. any ideas anyone?
I've been reading and looking for a week now trying
to figure this out. Thank you Very much in advance for your
help.

Sorry, Just wanted to say I am using
A Norstar modular ICS with VM version 4.0
I believe. I also have the Cintech Prelude ACD addon.

Ok, Now I feel dumb.
I browsed through the forum a bit longer
and found out the extension on the phone is actually
5909 internally. even though the DID line that was
put on it was 5926. how can I make this phone 5926?
or have the 5926 DID go to this phone when dialed?
Thanks again.

Nick

You can go into configuration programming (feature **config and password config) under the topic System programming and go next until Change DNs. Use the single option and then enter the old DN and then the new DN. If you need more detail let us know.

Ok,
Internally it works.
I changed DN from 5909 to 5926.
Now I can call it internally. but when
I dial the full DID number. from an outside
line. It still just rings and rings and does
not go the the phone that I just labeled with 5926.
do I have to do the same thing somewhere else?
ftr * 0 shows that it is 5926. and it has
the correct name. extension and it says port 315.
but I need it to work fom the outside when
the number 555.5926 is dialed. that is how all
of the other phones in the office seem to work.
my extension is 5925 and if you dial 555.5924
it's my direct line.. and it comes right to me..
sorry if I am stating the obvious. any suggestions?

Thanks for your help

Nick

Ok, now you will have to go back into config programming under lines, and check your target lines (145-336) and see which one has been assigned the recieved number of 5926. Most likely, they go in order, ie line 145 has been assigned 5900, 146 assigned 5901...(assuming they start at 5900) but you never know. Once you have located which target line has 5926 attached to it, assign that target line to appear and ring on ext 5926. You should also check to see if that target line has 5926 as the Prime Set, and change it if there is another DN assigned.

on that baby?
Thank you Schlum.

Feature *80 and then adjust with the volume control.
