Is their a way to translate an internal dialed number to a different number? I am looking for a way to do IDC without using a route. If I dial 8005 the switch would translate it to 8006. Both of these DN's would live on the same switch and not go out a route. This would save me from having to re-build a large acd group.

Is 8005 a defined queue? If so, you could set the NCFW to 8006 and log all users out of 8005. If the number is not is use, create 8005 as an ACD queue and use the same setting above.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

any vacant nunber can internal translate

ncfw 8006..

remember that if that call forwards to mail, you'll need to add 8005 as a secondary dn on that box or voice service dn,

and that works from internal or external

another way is rcfw, build a set on a soft tn and use rcfw to forward it. that burns a tn but some techs use it

8006 is an acd for voicemail(octel) that is not yet in full production. 8005 is a cdn for our current voicemail. We are currently split between two systems. Rather then have to change the remaining users fdn/hunt/mwk (2800 users), I would like to translate 8005 to 8006. Making 8005 ncfw 8006 won't work because you loose the integration. It has to work like an IDC, but I can't use IDC because it is internal. The only other option I could think of would be to out and rebuild the agents. This would be my last resort.

your right, almost nothing deletes the original dialed dn except the idc table. i had to waste 2 pri cards for that reason. the delete the original dialed dn for a paraphonics app we had to send the calls out on route a, so they could come back in on route b, other wise the forward from symposium ended reaching the wronge application... the cleanest way to fix that is out all the agents and add them back

The pretranslation speed call works great (LD 18) the only trouble is you have to add all the stations to that xlst.
Its quite a bit of work if you have many stations.

If all stations need that same xlst, then you can set it as the default list.

I have never used a pretranslation group before. How does this work? Does this have something to do with speed call lists? Can I translate 1 number to another for 900+ users?

no pretranslation is ofter used in an airport or better hotel install, single courtsy phone, dial 1 for x dial 2 for y etc, the dial to numbers are in a pretrans table, i don't know of a way to use it for this app
