Internal Conference Bridging Question 1

Can someone nutshell internal conference bridging for me? E.g., everyone in the sales department has an internal conference bridge extension where they can call (from the inside) and automatically be connected to anyone else dialing into that extension? If someone from the outside needs to be involved, they would obviously need to be transfered there from someone on the inside to protect against toll fraud. Otherwise, you’re looking at external conference bridging, right? What do you do in that case? Can you set up passcodes?

I’m working with a Meridian 61C on Succession 3.0. What hardware would I need to buy? Any ballpark figures on what I could expect to spend on such a project? Thanks, as always.

I assume you are asking about the Meridian Integrated Conference bridge. The bridge doesn't make any determination between internal and external calls. If someone externally can dial a DN for the bridge, they can access a conference if they know the passcode. The bridge has a webserver running on it so you can manage the bridge from a web browser. You can schedule conferences so that certain bridge numbers are only active during the scheduled time. You can let users schedule their own conference or appoint an administrator to schedule the conferences. The costs will vary depending upon how many ports you need, but you are probably looking in the $10,000 ballpark.
