Have a client with 2 x IP Office 406v2 units connected over a 10Mbit Bridged Ethernet Connection

SCN networking setup and working except for one problem

If a call is made over the voip link and is not answered withing the default ring time of 15 seconds the system making the call attempts to route the call over the ISDN-30 circuit , where the PTT (BT in UK) plays a recorded message saying The No called is not recognised.

Call status shows the events as they happen

Both systems running version 3.1 (65)

Checked VOIP settings and shortcodes . Nothing found different from the numerous other VOIP SCN linked systems i have setup

The no being called has no voicemail and no forwarding options set

Might possibly be IP trunk fallback which was introduced in 3.1 and in your case appears to be working annoyingly well.

Quoting from Manager: "The default timeout for IP trunk fallback is 5 seconds. This timeout can be changed for specific IP trunks and or all IP trunks. The required timeout is set through the Source Numbers tab of the NoUser user. The entry or entries take the form H323SetupTimerNoLCR line_number timeout where the line_number should be ALL for all IP trunks or the specific Line Number used for the IP trunk on its Line configuration tab, and the timeout is set in seconds."

The same page says that a 0 time value disables fallback.

Update

A call over the VOIP link rings the remote extension for 15 seconds then receives unavailable tone.

Remote extn has no forwarding or voicemail set

If I add a LCR route pointing the call back over the same VOIP link the call keeps on ringing.!!

I found this by accident as the system uses LCR and there was an entry for routing 3N calls over the Outside lines via a 3rd party provider. 3N is the Short Code for the remote extn range of 300-399.

By removing this entry i have proved that the LCR settings are being used after the initial 15 seconds of ringing.

As a work around I thought why not put LCR entries in the remote unit replicating the setings in the other system

Good Idea ??

No. This time the called extension rings for 15 seconds. the caller then gets silence. Call status shows the called no is in a Queue and after the 30 seconds timeout set as default in the LCR routing table the caller get the unobtainable tone.

To recap both systems running on version 3.1(65)

I could try 3.2 but as there are 4 systems with Voice Mail Pro & Phone Manager Pro I would rather cross that bridge when i have to.

are your "no answer" times the same on your systems ?
how is it set up (star or mesh) ?

Both systems are set with the default 15 sec no answer time and the SCN is set up in a star configuration
