Hi.
I have MSDN subscription and am trying to install Visual Studio.NET using the CDs.
I insert CD 1 and am told that I need to update components (step 1). I am prompted to insert the disk labeled "Windows Component UPdate disk for Visual Studio.NET". I insert a disc labeled "Windows Component Update for Visual Studio.NET" and my CD-ROM cannot even read this disc -- I get an error "incorrect function".
Do any of you have *any* idea what is going on here? The discs are all March 2002 (I don't have later, subscription expired -- though MS tells me that license is still good).
I would like to get around this by directly installing the components that I need -- since the VS.NET installation disk seems to be working OK -- but I can't find anywhere on microsoft.com which components/versions are required!
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. -Brad
