How do I install a TCP/IP printer on a windows 2000 server machine and share it to NT 4.0 clients? Here is what I have done:
I installed the printer (epson stylus color 1520) on the 2000 server as a local printer using the win2k driver from the epson website. I specified 'Standard TCP/IP port' and set it to the ip of the printer. I can print a test page from the 2000 server machine. When I go the printer properties, then Sharing | Additional Drivers and specify 'Intel Windows NT 4.0 or 2000' it asks me for the Windows 2000 Server CD. I put that in and it says 'The printer driver you selected is either not compatible with your current version of Windows, or it may not be available. Select a compatible driver from the list, or contact your administrator for help.' Any ideas? Thanks!
