Got a tech in the field that is trying to make a connection to the CP100 so he can program it, but he can't figure out how best to get in and talk to it. Should he serial or use the rj45, and once in and he gets a login prompt, what does he type to get to the menu or whatever?

Much Thanks. I have no documentation and he is like 300 miles away.

the serial port is not used for admin programming

you can talk to the CP using Ethernet (RJ45) or use the phone (7310/24/16/16E) just like programming a Flash

the default IP address for the CP is there in the install notes (abt 10 pages) that comes with the CP

The default static IP address for a Call Pilot is

192.168.110.10

Subnet mask

255.255.255.0

If you use the RJ45 ethernet jack.

If you need to change the Static IP address to be compliant with your network. Use a straight threw DB9 cable and connect to the serial port. 9600/8/N/1 and VT100. When the display says press any key within 2 seconds to modiy the default IP address and subnet mask, press a key and press (M) for modify.

Important note: When using the RJ45 ethernet port direct to a laptop, in addition to subnet mask and IP configuration, a 'rollover' cable or an intermediary hub must be used.
